From the editor:

In keeping with Purpose G of our bylaws which states that ADSA will oppose any amendments or acts of legislation that may deprive a law-abiding citizen the right to possess, own or bear firearms in accordance with the Constitution of the United States.

If you have not signed up to go with ADSA, please reconsider. Recent events have shown that the left has reduced themselves to using children as human shields.  Kids who are not old enough to vote are attempting to tell our elected legislators to ban ARs but when asked what an AR was — over 95% of them couldn’t even explain what an AR was! A majority of the kids asked couldn’t clearly explain what their purpose for marching on Saturday was!

For those of you who think that this club is too political or believe that the 2nd Amendment could never be repealed, consider the following:

In 2013, there were 46 senators who voted in favor of signing the UN Small Arms Treaty which would have essentially done away with our 2nd Amendment Rights and and given control to the UN.  Those senators were:

 1. Baldwin (D-WI)  Harkin (D-IA)  24. Reed (D-RI)
 Baucus (D-MT)  13. Hirono (D-HI)  Reid (D-NV)
 2. Bennet (D-CO)  Johnson (D-SD)  Rockefeller (D-WV)
 3. Blumenthal (D-CT) 14. Kaine (D-VA)  25. Sanders (I-VT)
 Boxer (D-CA)  15. King (I-ME)  26. Schatz (D-HI)
 4. Brown (D-OH)  16. Klobuchar (D-MN)  27. Schumer (D-NY)
 5. Cantwell (D-WA)  Landrieu (D-LA)  28. Shaheen (D-NH)
 6. Cardin (D-MD)  17. Leahy (D-VT)  29. Stabenow (D-MI)
 7. Carper (D-DE)  Levin (D-MI)  Udall (D-CO)
 8. Casey (D-PA) — Yes — A PA Senator voted to take away your 2nd Amendment rights!  18. McCaskill (D-MO)  30. Udall (D-NM)
 9. Coons (D-DE)  19. Menendez (D-NJ)  31. Warner (D-VA)
 Cowan (D-MA)  20. Merkley (D-OR)  32. Warren (D-MA)
 10. Durbin (D-IL)  Mikulski (D-MD)  33. Whitehouse (D-RI)
 11. Feinstein (D-CA)  21. Murphy (D-CT)   34. Wyden (D-OR)
 Franken (D-MN)  22. Murray (D-WA)
 12. Gillibrand (D-NY)  23. Nelson (D-FL)

As you can see, 34 of these senators are still active and it would have only taken 50 votes to sign away our rights through the UN Treaty.  4 more yes votes from either side of the aisle and they would have been gone.  The election of Donald Trump has clearly displayed how many in the house and the senate are playing for the same team and they sure as heck aren’t playing for us!

There has been talk that certain members of the left are hinting around at a repeal of the 2nd Amendment. Even a retired supreme court justice believes that the 2nd Amendment should be repealed!  This fact alone is why we do not want a constitutional convention to occur.

We are seriously one or two elections away from potentially losing our rights. As witnessed in 2009 through 2016, Harry Reid was not afraid to enact cloture voting to avoid the need for a super-majority.

This January, Governor Wolf recently declared a state of emergency in PA due to the opioid crisis. Gov. Tom Wolf has issued an unprecedented state of disaster emergency declaration regarding opioid addiction. By misusing a natural disaster emergency declaration, the governor activated an automatic trigger in state law that criminalizes the open carrying of any firearm — whether a handgun, rifle or shotgun.

The rights of law-abiding gun owners are now under attack due to this section in the Crimes Code that specifically states: “No person shall carry a firearm upon the public streets or upon any public property during an emergency proclaimed by a state or municipal governmental executive.”

Further, the coordinated attacks have grown ever more intense since the Parkland Florida School shooting. Anti-gun groups and their billionaire financiers have pulled out all the stops to blame the 2nd Amendment for the heinous acts of one person who should have been stopped by government which broke down repeatedly.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking that just because other people are out there fighting the good fight that you do not have to participate. We urge you to get involved.

The NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Course presents students, who have already completed the basic Personal Protection in the Home course, with more advanced concepts and use of lethal force techniques meant to expand and enable self defense in virtually any civilian scenario.

This course builds upon the basic concepts taught in Personal Protection In the Home that covered mindset, legal issues, decision-making under pressure, and planning for the worst with additional scenarios and training meant to facilitate self defense in the gravest extreme. The Personal Protection Outside the Home course is designed around the advanced tactical deployment and use of the defensive pistol within the home, your business or workplace and any public venue where firearm possession is not prohibited by law.

Although this course can be completed as quickly as 14 hours, the depth and breadth of information presented, and the probability of intensive question and answer sessions on the included topics, makes it likely that the course will take longer.

Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home handbook and intensive lessons on advanced tactics of defensive shooting, issues of self-defense, and other strategies to facilitate personal protection.

Course Goal

“To develop in the students the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding citizen’s right to self-defense.”

Participants are expected to show validation of shooting experience by presenting an NRA Basic Pistol Course certificate and an NRA Personal Protection In the Home Course certificate.

Finally, the Personal Protection course is intended for mature law-abiding adults, who have the mindset and seriousness necessary to properly perform the activities in the course. Self-defense is not a topic that lends itself to horseplay and distractions.

Firearm Fundamentals and Safety Class
For Families and Youths

Course conducted by S.A.F.E. (Shooters Active in Firearms Education)
(This class is for adults as well as youths)

Monday, March 19, 2018

6:30pm till ? (class lasts approximately 2 hours)

Cost: FREE – class size limited to the 1st 16 registrants

(Additional classes will be scheduled if needed)

Class is open to members and non-members

Mom, Dad and the kids all can have a blast at our shooting-school and education seminar geared strictly toward the novice and new shooters. This class is open to all families, adult and children. S.A.F.E. believes that you are never too old or too young to learn firearm safety.

SAFE teaches kids to “trust their feelings” around “tricky” people. It also preaches firearms safety. Children memorize what they must do when and if they encounter a gun with no adults around: “Stop. Don’t touch. Leave the area and tell an adult.”

This class will last about 2 hours. We will be covering firearm fundamentals and firearm safety in the home and out. We will breakdown common media myths about guns as portrayed on our televisions, radios and in our schools everyday. We will show parents inexpensive and practical ways to secure firearms in the home and introduce everyone to the proper safety rules pertaining to firearms and their handling.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive honest answers throughout this event. There will be a display of many varieties of personally owned firearms for comment and inspection.

We will also offer the opportunity to fire a select few types of firearms in the handgun categories. These will be assigned based on the physical attributes and experience of the shooter.

If you are thinking of purchasing a firearm or if you already own one we will have certified instructors available so you can talk to them about your particular firearm as well as upcoming comprehensive training courses.

You Must pre-register for this course by emailing your info to tomroth@jameserothinc.com or you may call Tom at 724-831-8830.

Class size limited to the 1st 16 registrants.
